BOB GUNTON (Alexander McAnally III) is a veteran character actor who garnered acclaim for his standout performances in such films as the Academy Award-nominated "The Shawshank Redemption," as well as "Patch Adams" and "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," among others.

An award-winning stage actor, Gunton earned both Tony and Drama Desk nominations for playing the title role in "Sweeney Todd" in 1989. It was his fourth Drama Desk nomination, having previously earned nods for "King of Hearts" and the original cast production of "Big River." He won the Drama Desk and the Dramalogue Awards for originating the role of Juan Peron in "Evita" on Broadway, which also brought him his first Tony nomination.

Gunton’s numerous feature film credits include "A Thousand Acres," "Changing Habits," "The Glimmer Man," "Broken Arrow," "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls," "Dolores Claiborne," "Demolition Man," "JFK," "Born on the Fourth of July," "Glory" and "Matewan."

On television, Gunton starred as the disgraced former President in the Showtime production "Elvis Meets Nixon" and as the exalted President Franklin D. Roosevelt in "Kingfish: A Story of Huey P. Long" for TNT. His other telefilm appearances include "Buffalo Soldiers," "Ruby Ridge: An American Tragedy," "In Pursuit of Honor," "Nothing Sacred" and "Swing Vote," along with the HBO movie "Exxon Valdez." He also appeared in the mini-series "Starkweather: Murder in the Heartland," "Wild Palms," "Sinatra" and "A Woman Named Jackie," as well as the Showtime series "Outer Limits."
